This group of seven elected members is responsible for bringing you great events like our annual workshop Lindyfest, weekend workshops, Harvest Moon Ball, as well as shaping our re gular classes and dances. <br />

The Houston Swing Dance Society is an organization of dedicated individuals who have a common appreciation and love of swing dancing and the Swing Dance Era. We are proud to be a part of the local arts community that makes Houston a richer place to live and visit.<br />

Since its inception HSDS has been governed by a board of directors whose members are actively involved in all aspects of the organization. All day-to-day operations of HSDS are under the supervision of a seven member Board of Directors who have been elected in the past two years. <br />

If you are a current HSDS member who would like to contribute to the future of HSDS please <a href="http://hsds.org/index.php?option=com_contact&amp;view=contact&amp;id=1&amp;Itemid=341">contact us</a> to be added to the ballot. There are four open Board Member seats that we are looking to fill this year! We are offering a special <a href="http://lindyfest.hsds.org/registration.php?ws=beginner">Beginner's Track</a> crash course for people looking to start their journey into Lindy Hop during the Lindyfest weekend. Beginner's lessons are March 13-14th. <br>

We start from the very beginning and teach you how to put the triple in your step. You'll also be treated to special visits from legends of the dance. This dance was popularized by the late Frankie Manning and incorporates jazz and tap te chniques including the Shorty George, Tacky Annie and Boogie Back! Come join the party and learn this fun lindy hop line dance. <div style="text-align: justify;">The Great Southwest Lindyfest is a weekend workshop that brings extraordinary swing dance instructors into the area to teach Lindy Hop and related dances. This workshop is designed for Lindy Hop dancers at the Beginner-Intermediate level and above. If you are brand new to swing dancing or Lindy Hop, we recommend you take the 2-day Beginner's Track or <a href="http://www.hsds.org/">weekly lessons</a> provided by the Houston Swing Dance Society.</div>
